The political climate has been a rollercoaster. I worry for my friends and their families. I worry for my people and my island. But more than worry, I feel rage. I don't express myself much about politics, but I scream a lot in my head. I've never created political art before, and this is my first. One of my favorite artists, @residente inspired this piece. His music is charged with the rage I feel, but written so poetically with beats that move you.

This art is a homage to my abuelito, who was part of the Nationalist movement in Borikén under Pedro Albizu Campos. I remember him in his brimmed hats and guayabera shirts, and he knew how to wield a machete en el campo. Lately, music has been inspiring my visual perception, and my ideas are flowing. Just as we need the voices of our activists to scream loud, we need our artists to create the visuals for the words unable to be expressed. A voice to the voiceless.
